Kuala Lumpur Top Ten Attractions

Not sure what to see first in Kuala Lumpur?  Here is the experts' top ten guide to the city:

1. Petronas Towers
These iconic towers dominate the KL skyline, travel up to the walkway for fantastic views of the city



2. Batu Caves
This place of pilgrimage outside the city is guarded by enormous statues of Hindu Gods and squadrons of fearless monkeys

 3. Chinatown/Petaling Street
All the hustle and bustle of the Chinese market.  Especially worth visiting at night, grab a table and a bottle of Tiger and watch the world go by

4. Menara KL Tower
Kuala Lumpurs original super-structure. Zoom up to the observation deck for a stunning view of the city

5. Central Market
All your souvenir hunting can be taken care of in this art deco market.  Not the cheapest market around, but still worth visiting.




6. Bird Gardens/Lake Gardens
A green lung next to the Central Station, you can easily while away  a couple of hourse




7. Mardeka Square
More noteworthy for the buildings surrounding this colonial square



8. Thean Hou Temple
Incredibly ornate Chinese Temple, also plays host to fortune telling and martial arts.





9. Museum of Islamic Arts
The largest display of Islamic Arts in South-East Asia







10. Little India
Temples, markets and throngs of people in the Brickfields area of Kuala Lumpur





So where did this top ten list come from?  Well by trawling through websites, books and blogs and applying the lost art of Mathematics to the results, I have come up with a statistical consensus, and have saved you the trouble of doing likewise.  It's quite boring, so thank me later.  I couldn't resist adding one more entry though...




*11. Aquaria
A personal choice in at number 11, just because I think it's great.  It's got fish AND tarantulas.
