I have to start off here by embarrassing myself with the admission that I had never heard of Hari Raya before coming to Malaysia. Sorry about that. I'm probably not the only one though, so no harm in explaining. I was of course familiar with Ramadan, the month of fasting observed by Muslims, and Hari Raya Puasa is a national holiday to mark the end of this period.
