Welcome to Cyberjaya

First off, 'jaya' means 'Success', while 'cyber' means, well, something to do with computers.  So the city was constructed as Malaysia's answer to Silicon Valley, obviously trying to emulate the success of it's American role-model.

The city - or region if you prefer - is something of an anomaly when compared with the rest of the country.  People live in gated communities patrolled by security guards, and paying comparitively (very) high rents for the privilege.  There is no 'centre', not much nightlife to speak of.  Lots of foreigners earning lots of money.  Lots of techie related businesses.  There is also a facebook page about the area called 'Cyberjaya is not Boring', which you imagine is a title residents of Las Vegas, for example, would not feel the need to come up with.

Now I realise that the above may not serve as a glowing recommendation, and certainly Cyberjaya is not exactly a tourist hotspot, but I intend to find the positives over the coming months, and also find out a little about Malaysia too.
